Some Area Info: Sheffield is located in the northwestern portion of Caledonia County. Currently home to approx. 703 residents, Sheffield spans over a total of 32.8 sq. miles or 20,992 acres. Chartered in 1793, Sheffield is now home to a 16-turbine, 40-megawatt wind farm designed to generate enough power to provide electricity to 12,600 homes.

Attractions and Recreation: Sheffield is visited every year by snowmobile and ATV enthusiasts. It is one of the only towns in the Northeast Kingdom that allows ATV’s on it’s public highways. Sheffield is also home to Mathewson State Forest. A 795 acre forest allowing opportunity for camping, hiking and cold water fishing. Sheffield is also home to the Sheffield Historical Society which displays many pictures and photo albums of the towns history.
