Our Northeast lakes are truly incredible:  Lake Memphremagog is one of the nicest International lakes in the area, attracting many to it's clear water and easy access to Canada.  Tourists and locals are happy to enjoy boating, be it on their private boats or on The Northern Star ( Vermont's only International Cruising Adventure).  All cruises depart from the Newport City Dock and Gateway Center with many day and/or evening cruise options. Lake Memphremagog straddles the Canadian Border, extending 33 miles from Newport, VT to the beaches in Magog, Quebec.  It is a favorite among sailboating enthusiasts, fishermen and most anyone who enjoys water sports.  Our many other lakes all have their own perks. Crystal Lake located in Barton, VT. Approximately a mile wide and 3 miles long this lake is bordered on one side by tall cliffs that lets the sun casade down and glitter over the clear water.   The public beach house is made of granite that came from an old quarry on the eastern side of the lake. Willoughby Lake is considered by many to be the most beautiful lake in VT, reminiscent of a Norwegian fjord and referred to as "the Lucerne of America."  At the depth of 312' it is a favorite for divers, offers 2 public beaches and quaint shops, lodgings and restaurants lining the shores.  The Northeast Kingdom also offers more quiet and smaller lakes for those who want to just relax and take it slow.
